Bugged Out presents Suck My Deck! Mixed by Boys Noize

Felix Da Housecat, Erol Alkan, Miss Kittin, Simian Mobile Disco, Klaxons: they all had the honor to mix the official compilation for Bugged Out!, one of the most infamous club nights in London. Now, they've asked our German friend Boys Noize to make their new mix album. The result is available since this week, and contains some smashing tracks from D.I.M., Surkin, Feadz, Alter Ego, SebastiAn, Apparat and many many more: 35 tracks, smoothly mixed into 75 mins of pure pleasure.

Of course, a couple of his own tracks (Lava Lava, how I love that tune) and some remixes, including an incredible version of Justice's "Phantom". Check the tracklisting below! (takes a while to load)

Free Surkin - download

Surkin, barely 20 years old, but a wizz behind the ... errr... macs (Phantom has found out it's genetic, apparently), will release a new single next week (March 31). It'll be called **Next Of Kin**, and as a promo, you can download "White Knight Two" off that single for free in all of its 320kbps - glory. Get it here!

Personally, not my cup of tea, I prefer his "Fireworks Radio", the irresistible "Ghetto Obsession 2006" and his remix of M.I.A.'s "Sunflowers". But hey, as they say over here, don't look a gift horse in the mouth ;)

Extra trivia: you can find this track as well on the (disappointing) new Switch - compilation of Studio Brussel. Oh, and Next Of Kin will be available on vinyl as well, for all of you powertraining (those bags, guys!), good ol' Technics-lovers out there ;)

Bombtrack: The Presets - My People

Well, Ishtar didn't work out yet, so: no result so far. Let's give it another week. In the meantime, some other food for your ears! This track is around for some months now, but recently discovered it in the D.I.M.-remix: 'My People' from The Presets. Check the very cool video below!
The D.I.M.-remix may be even better than the original (could find a video, though): check it now in Phantom's brand new Saturday Night Session (vol 3), or check the Petits Pilous - videos below, it's the song playing in the first video.

This weeks challenge: Ishtar

Belgium sends Ishtar to the Eurosong contest. Partners in crime Phantom and The Dukes had the idea to remix this folk-song, and asked me to join... Well, let's give it a try and mess this song up! Maybe Belgium sends us to Eurosong instead :-) Deadline: Monday March 17th. Keep you posted...

Oh, here's the original:

Crazy Sunday Mix

What do you do on a Sunday afternoon, home alone? Of course, open up the macbook, start up Ableton, plug in the midi-controller and mess & mix around! Result of my Sunday afternoon below, with tracks of DIM, Hostage, Dragonette, Ashlee Simpson (I needed a cool pic for this post :)), Para One, Brodinski, Dusty Kid, The Black Ghosts, Les Petits Pilous and Dim Chris.

Download this 16 min-mix here:

Enjoy !

Let's party!

How can we start off better than with a good party? Last Friday Les Petits Pilous played a DJ-set in my brand new (work) hometown of Ghent. Last minute decided to go to the Make Up - Club, and it wasn't disappointing (although some technical problems caused 10 minutes of dead silence before Les Petits Pilous took off). But both the club (very nice location) and the DJ's were worth the visit. Some impressions:

Too bad they didn't play 'Housi'... Maybe on their next visit in Antwerp during the Boys Noize Label Night?
